Bereavement Ministry

This ministry assists the bereaved families of a deceased parishioner with planning the funeral Mass. Once the parish office is contacted of a death, a bereavement minister contacts the family to help make the necessary Mass arrangements. Follow-up calls to the family by the bereavement minister provide additional support and helps direct the family to any needed support services. A yearly Mass and reception is available for all parishioners who have experienced the loss of a family member during the year. Training for this specialized ministry requires at least one-year experience as a Care Minister and bereavement training is provided by the Archdiocese.
