When serving Mass I promise to dress appropriately and come promptly as defined below. I promise to do this because serving as a minister of the Church requires proper reverence. This reverence to God means that the church should be different from other place. Appropriate dress clothes should be worn by the Church's ministers. Promptness to Mass is also an expectation. As a server, I am not simply a helper, but an example of leadership to my peers and the community.
Please by at weekend Mass 20 minutes before it begins.
Please be at weekday Mass 10 minutes before it begins.
If you cannot server Mass, it is your responsibility to get a replacement. The Altar Server Schedulder is not responsible for finding substitutes. Please remember to check off your name on the provided sheets before Mass. If your record shows that you have missed three Masses, a letter will be sent to you. If you do not respond to the letter within a week, your name will be dropped from the server list. If you should forget to check off your name, please send an email to the scheduled as soon as possible.
If you no longer wish to continue serving please contact the Altar Server Scheduler informing them of this decision. Before your name is dropped from the server list, you will be required to serve your scheduled days within the current scheduling period. Your name will then be omitted from the following server schedule.
Slacks for boys, slacks or skirts for girls. No shorts or blue jeans.
Dress shirt or blouse. No t-shirts.
Dark dress shoes. No athletic shoes, strapless shoes, or sandals.
Those serving weekday Masses when school is in session need only wear school uniform.
