Looking for a way to connect with other families at St. James to discuss family situations in a social type setting? Christian Family Movement (CFM) provides opportunities for couples and families to meet, serve, participate in social activities and further incorporate faith into family life.
CFM is a national network of small discipleship groups whose mission is to promote Christ-centered marriage and family life; to help individuals and their families to live the Christian faith in everyday life; and to improve society though actions of love, service, education and example.
St. James has had a CFM ministry for many years, and this year the parish is hoping to increase participation by introducing the program to people who haven’t been involved and reacquainting those who have. More than 50 people attended a CFM information and trivia night in January.
Monthly meetings will be held in April and May and then pick up again in September. A typical meeting agenda is as follows:
- Gathering/Announcements = Opening 15 minutes
- Scripture reading and discussion on family related issue/social topic = 45 minutes
- Closing prayer and social hour = +60 minutes
If you have questions about CFM or plan to attend the meetings, contact Bill and Linda Borst at firstname.lastname@example.org.
