St James Enduring Faith Re-Opening Plan

We have been certified by the Archdiocese of Chicago to welcome you to Masses beginning Saturday, June 6th.

We ask you to read and follow these guidelines to make our worship safe, smooth and joyful.
Disclaimer: while we are excited to resume public mass, the Archdiocesan dispensation for spiritual communion remains. Therefore, there is no Sunday Mass requirement at this time. If you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, sick, or are considered part of the ‘vulnerable population,’ please do not feel any obligation to join us physically in the church. We can’t wait to be reunited with you, but we understand the seriousness of COVID-19 and will be here whenever that time comes for you and your family to peacefully return to worship with us physically. We will continue livestreaming mass.

During this phase, we are only able to allow 20% of our Church capacity so please read the following in its entirety and then watch the video to see and hear about what to expect when you come to mass.

Below is a seating chart of the pews. The red pews will remain vacant due to social distancing guidelines. The grey pews are available for reservation for each mass. We’ve sectioned off the church and labeled the pews according to the section (A-G). The physical pews inside the church have also been labeled the same way so when you arrive, you can easily find the pew you reserved.

Everyone in your household is welcome to sit in your pew. When reserving it, please enter the number of people in your household. If there are no pews available to reserve within a mass time, that mass is full and you’ll have to look for availability in a different mass time. There will be no walk-ins at this time. Please make sure to reserve your pew ahead of time!

We ask that each family sign up for ONE MASS ONLY at this time. We also ask that sign-up be limited to current St. James parishioners at this time. The Seniors Only masses are the Sunday 7am and 7:30 daily masses. Seniors are classified as 65 and older. Please only sign up for these masses if you are 65+.

We look forward to seeing you in person when the time is right for you and your family! If you’ve discerned to continue to stay home, we look forward to “seeing” you on social media and attending all the virtual opportunities for worship, formation, and fun!

Please review the guidelines below sent by the Archdiocese before attending mass.

Please remember that each household may sign up for one mass per week to allow others to receive Holy Communion.

For any questions or concerns, please email

Moving Forward, Masses listed below will include a self cancellation option in your email confirmation so that in the event you need to cancel a reservation you made, you can free up the slot for another family to attend.  Thank you!
