St. James Parish welcomes you to our website!   We invite you to take a look at what is happening during the month of November, 2018.

Wednesday, November 1st is the Solemnity of All Saints, and a holy day of obligation.  Masses are at: 7:30am, 9:00am (St. James School Mass), and 7:00pm.  All Masses are in the Parish Center.

Join Fr Derek on a 10 day pilgrimage to the Holy Land  May 8-17, 2019! Informational meeting will be Thursday, November 1st at 5:45pm in the St. James Resource Center/School library.

The 8:30am Mass in the Parish Center on Saturday, November 3rd is the Remember with Love Mass.

“Jubilation at James” – our annual parish Auction/fundraising event, is taking place on November 3rd.  This year, the theme is Under the Big Top, and promises to be a wonderful evening for all!  Proceeds go to St. James Charities.  Whether you are attending Jubilation or not, everyone can bid on silent auction items starting now!!   With the help of WEDO Charity Auctions, we are using mobile bidding. Divorce Ministry Mass for Separated, Divorced and Annulled Catholics will be November 4th at 6:30pm in the St. James Chapel.  The Chapel is located across the street from the Church.

The Children’s Rosary Group will meet on Mondays, November 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th, in the CHAPEL at 4:00pm.  All are welcome!

On Sunday, November 11th, our Veteran’s Day Mass will be celebrated at all the Sunday Masses.  We will remember in prayer those living and deceased who have served and continue to serve our country.

November 13th the Religious Education “Project Linus” will meet at 4:30PM and 6:30PM in the Parish Center.  Fleece Donations are welcome.  Click here for more information.

On Friday, November 16th, St. James Over 50 Group members will gather for a “Thanksgiving” Mass that will take place at Prince of Peace Church in Lake Villa and celebrated by Fr. Bill. Click here for more information.

On the weekend of November 17th and 18th, those who participated in the “Chase the Chill Project” will hang hand-knit scarves on the tree in front of the Church, to benefit the homeless and those who need a scarf to keep warm during the winter.

All are invited to offer their thanks for the many gifts we have received at the 9:00am Mass in the Parish Center on Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd.  We wish you a very happy Thanksgiving holiday!

On Sunday, November 25th, we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of the Universe. Our Advent information will also be posted in the bulletin at this time.
