I’ve been the Controller at St. James since July 2017. My ministry is to provide a solid financial footing for the parish by using my talents for stewardship of the generous gifts granted by the people of St. James.
In the stewardship of Treasure, I feel the Spirit’s presence in the parishioners I meet who give so abundantly and those who are receptive to the gifts this community makes available. To see both sides of this equation is truly a gift and a joy.
I grew up in the south suburbs — Homewood, Illinois, to be exact. After high school, I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a degree in Accountancy. Today, I live a little further west in Aurora. I’m a single mom with four beautiful young adults who keep me smiling.
My favorite bible quote is probably Sirach 2:1-6. I like it because it talks about being prepared for the adversities of life and staying strong in your faith, hope and trust in God. That’s sound advice we can all take to heart.
