My name is Ben Rahimi and I will be your resident seminarian for this year, which basically means I am here to help out wherever I am needed. I am originally from Palatine so, like many of you, I can relate to the experience of growing up in the Northwest suburbs. I am the oldest of four boys who, believe it or not, get along pretty splendidly. I love to cook and enjoy reading, writing, and hanging out with friends and family.  I attended St. Theresa School in Palatine and Northridge Preparatory School  in Niles from 6th through 12th grade.  After high school, I attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where I studied Accounting and Finance. After college, I accepted a job at a consulting firm downtown where I worked as a tax and advisory consultant to companies going through mergers. My corporate career was cut short when I felt God calling me to serve Him in a different way – as a priest. I left my job downtown and entered Mundelein Seminary where I studied philosophy for two year. After this time I was asked by Cardinal George to study theology in Rome at the Gregorian University. For the last three years I have been in the Eternal City and have had a chance to see the universality of our faith and the good that the Catholic Church does around the world. I am excited to be serving at St. James for this year and I look forward to getting to know you all in the time ahead. Be assured of my daily prayers for you and your intentions as we all strive to become missionary disciples, a people sent on mission to bring the world to Jesus Christ.
