I grew up in Evanston and attended St. Athanasius School. I graduated from Indiana University with a Business Degree. Early in my career I was a Computer Systems Analyst and later moved into Business Operations.
Since 2014, I have been communications coordinator for St. James. My role gives me the opportunity to do a wide variety of tasks that change all the time. My work ranges from maintaining the parish data system to keeping the parish website updated with new content, and working with the parish Communications Committee to continually refresh the website design and find new ways of communicating with our large and active parish. I also work with families to schedule Baptisms, assist parishioners in finding the right information and resources, and assist the bulletin editor, in addition to any special projects that come up.
In this busy environment, there are always new people to meet. I see my role as helping people feel welcome in the parish. And I always try to have a smile on my face when I answer the phone.
One of my favorite Bible verses is John 21: “Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, so I send you.” It reminds me that there is always peace to be found among the craziness. God can provide us peace during stressful times in our lives.
I’m so grateful to be part of this wonderful parish staff, who work so hard to make the parish run smoothly. I am blessed with a wonderful husband, two boys and the St. James community.
