Hello St. James Parishioners.
I was born in MI and raised in South Bend, IN where I attended both Catholic Elementary and High School. I came to Chicago to attend DePaul University and stayed as I grew to love the city’s diversity, culture, and activities.
I met my husband, Steve, while at DePaul and we were married in 1998. We have two children Sarah and Nate. After living in a few different areas we settled into Arlington Heights and joined St. James Parish. I made the hard decision to leave my hotel management career of 10 years to stay at home with my kids. But soon I immersed myself in many volunteer opportunities and found a passion for running. I became involved in the PTO in District 23, as well as our wonderful St. James faith community. I have been active in many different aspects of our parish- Moms Plus, RE, VBS, Extraordinary Minister, and Open Doors Ministry, just to name a few. St. James Parish is such a diverse and talented community; I have enjoyed meeting so many families and actively sharing my faith.
I feel so very blessed to be on staff as a part of the Children’s Ministry Team to help support our volunteer led programs including: CLOW, Sunday School, VBS, and Open Doors. These programs play a strong role in the faith formation of our youth by openly welcoming them to hear God’s Word, develop a relationship with Jesus Christ, and actively participate in their community. By engaging our children in our faith practices it is my deepest hope that their hearts will be open to “Come near to God, and he will come near to you.” James 4:8 so they will always feel loved and comforted as they walk through life.
