Mike Kendrick

St. James School Principal

Tell us about yourself:
It is a great day to be a National Blue Ribbon Bulldog! As the Principal of St. James School my goal is to FIND A WAY to partner with families to develop their children into young men and women of intellect and faith.

Before coming to St. James, I served as the Principal at St. Joseph School in Wilmette, Athletic Director and Dean of Students at St. Benedict Prep in Chicago, and Science Teacher at Northridge Prep in Niles.

I graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Math. Recently I finished my second Masters at Loyola University in Administration and Supervision and currently am on track to finish a doctoral program in 2022. Previous to Loyola, I received my first Masters of Education at North Park University. I recently graduated from the University of Notre Dame’s Center for Transformational Educational Leadership program through the Alliance for Catholic Education.

I live in Evanston with my wife Rita, son Benny, and daughter Ellie.

When did you start serving at St. James?
August of 2019

Why are you passionate about serving at St. James?
St. James is different than most parishes. Here we focus not only on providing excellent formation opportunities, but we also focus on bringing people closer to Christ. Our unified mission of being disciples and making disciples forces us to stop at nothing to serve the people of St. James Parish & School.
