Deepening our Faith | Growing in Christian Leadership | Making Disciples
The Life Teen Discipleship Program is an opportunity for high school teens to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ while stepping into leadership within our Life Teen community. Teen leaders play an important role in shaping the culture of Life Teen and helping create a welcoming, faith-filled environment for others.
Teen leaders work alongside our Core Team and are invited into a deeper level of formation, service, and leadership. Some of the ways teen leaders serve include:
• Helping with setup and clean-up for Life Teen Nights
• Offering input on topics and themes for Life Teen Nights
• Leading games, activities, or small groups when needed
• Welcoming and befriending new teens at Life Teen Nights and retreats
• Inviting friends and peers to Life Teen events
• Sharing a testimony or helping lead a talk when asked
• Speaking into mission trips and service opportunities
• Attending Discipleship Formation Nights (twice a month)
Discipleship Formation Nights
These nights are a key part of the program, where we gather twice a month to grow in faith, build community, and be challenged to live as disciples of Christ. Through prayer, discussion, and formation, teen leaders are equipped to lead and serve others.
Who Should Apply?
The ideal candidate is a rising junior or senior for the 2026–27 school year who:
• Regularly attends Sunday Life Teen Nights
• Has participated in at least one retreat or mission trip
• Has a desire to grow in their faith and personal relationship with Christ
• Is open to being challenged in both human and spiritual formation
• Is willing to step into a leadership role within the Life Teen community
Expectations & Commitment
Being a teen leader is a meaningful commitment. Leaders are expected to attend Sunday Life Teen Nights and Tuesday Discipleship Meetings regularly, unless a conflict is communicated ahead of time. While we understand that schedules can be busy with school, sports, and other activities, we ask our leaders to make Life Teen a priority and lead by example.
As part of our commitment to forming leaders, all accepted teen leaders are expected to attend the Steubenville Joliet Youth Conference (June 26–28), unless there is a significant conflict. This conference is a powerful opportunity for prayer, worship, and growth in faith, and serves as an important part of preparing our leaders for the year ahead.
If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to take time to pray about it, talk with your parents, and consider whether you feel called to this opportunity.
