Julie Jacobson

Director of Stewardship and Development

Tell us about yourself:

I was born and raised in Chicago where I attended Queen of All Saints grade school, Regina Dominican High School, and DePaul University where I majored in Communications with a minor in Sales Leadership.  My husband, Peter, and I moved to Buffalo Grove in 2016 and soon after we welcomed our daughter, Lily, in 2018 and son, Ben, in 2021. Prior to joining St. James, I spent 10+ years as the Director of Development & Donor Partnerships for Susan G. Komen Chicago. In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends – doing anything from enjoying live music, exploring a new area, boating, having an iced coffee or green tea, or just hanging out & laughing!

When did you start serving at St. James?

I joined St. James in April 2022.

Why are you passionate about serving at St. James?

I was excited to join St. James as the Director of Development and Stewardship because I am passionate about helping others share their time, talent, and treasures with great organizations. Through my work, I enjoy being able to increase funding to programs that impact people’s lives for the better.  I am also so excited for my daughter to begin pre-k at St. James.
