The highlight of the Sacred Sounds Concert Series (at St. James in Arlington Heights) is our presentation of a major classical concert each spring. In March of 2026 Sacred Sounds presents the Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi, a masterpiece composed for orchestra, soloists and chorus. The ensemble consists of a quartet of professional soloists, a 70-voice choir and 31-piece orchestra. Music Director Tamaron Conseur will conduct the concert which will last approximately 90 minutes with intermission.

About the Music: Verdi’s Requiem is intensely dramatic and exciting. The powerful and emotionally charged music heightens the pathos of the Requiem (traditional Roman Catholic Mass for the Dead) with unforgettable melodies and orchestration in the operatic style of which Verdi was an undoubted genius.

This monumental work invites the audience to meditate on mortality, contemplate the deep faith that inspires millions, and consider the spiritual hope of eternal life. Admission to the concert is free and open to the community. Believers, seekers, and music aficionados will all find something to love about this concert.
